Co-exhibitor of CALIFORNIA WINE INSTITUTE
Founder Al Scheid, though an outsider to the area, helped put Monterey County on California’s viticulture map. A 10-acre parcel on the outskirts of town quickly grew into a network of exceptional vineyards, and the man who first planted them became a leader and trailblazer in the wine—and especially grape-growing—industry.
Al’s passion for winemaking grew as his operations and vineyard land did. Since then, it has overflowed into the glasses of his children, Scott and Heidi Scheid, who keep the family business and Al’s legacy alive today.
