In the heart of Valpolicella Classica, the Speri family has preserved for generations a deep bond with the land and with the winemaking tradition of Verona.
Today, the winery stands as the most important organic estate in the area, both in vineyard surface and production, and as a benchmark for those who believe in wines that are authentic, sustainable, and true to their origins.
Convinced that quality begins in the vineyard, the Speri family has always worked to preserve soil fertility and biodiversity, cultivating only indigenous clones and protecting historical grape varieties at risk of extinction.
After a long journey of sustainable farming, in 2015 the winery achieved full organic certification, granted by ICEA – Istituto per la Certificazione Etica e Ambientale, confirming a solid and tangible commitment to environmental protection.
No pesticides or herbicides are used in the vineyards: grass grows naturally, pruning residues are transformed into compost, and sexual confusion techniques replace chemical treatments, ensuring a natural balance between vine and environment.
In 2021, Speri obtained the Equalitas Sustainability Certification, recognizing an integrated approach to sustainability:
This vision makes every Speri wine not only a product of quality but also a genuine expression of responsibility towards people and the environment.
In 2022, Speri received the Biodiversity Friend certification and launched the “Bees for Biodiversity” project, in collaboration with Hybla.
Seven hives were installed among the organic vineyards to encourage the presence of the honeybee, essential for pollination and ecosystem health.
A small gesture that reflects a great commitment to the future of the land.
Between heritage, research, and respect for nature, Speri continues to interpret Valpolicella Classica with an authentic yet contemporary style.
Its wines tell the story of a remarkable land, the strength of its roots, and the vision of a family that has been working in harmony with the environment for generations.
