BEERENAUSLESE Chardonnay – Ried Hohenleiten

Grape variety: Chardonnay Vintage: 2020
Vineyard: Loess / clay / sand, south facing, high plateau. There is a slight cooling off in the evening on the high plateau of the location. As a result, the wines achieve enormous power and potential. enormous root depth (10-15m), therefore good water supply.
Vinification: This Beerenauslese Chardonnay is an exquisite dessert wine, crafted with the utmost care from carefully selected, overripe Chardonnay grapes. The term "Beerenauslese" refers to a late harvest wine, where the grapes are meticulously handpicked to ensure they are at their peak ripeness. Tasting notes: The nose is a luxurious bouquet of honey, dried apricots, and ripe peaches, complemented by subtle hints of honeycomb and a delicate nuttiness. On the palate, the wine is lusciously sweet yet perfectly balanced by a refreshing acidity. Flavors of candied citrus, tropical fruits like mango and pineapple, and a touch of spice dance across the tongue, leading to a long, lingering finish. The wine’s sweetness is rich but never cloying, making it an ideal pairing with desserts or enjoyed on its own as a decadent treat.
