Gagliole is a winery located in the heart of Chianti Classico, with 21 hectares of vineyards divided between Panzano and Castellina in Chianti—two iconic and deeply complementary territories, both rich in history, agricultural tradition, and a strong winemaking vocation.
In Panzano, in the renowned "Conca d’Oro," the vineyards are situated on hillsides, sun-exposed and well-ventilated, with soils rich in “pietra forte” (calcareous sandstone), which brings tension, depth, and structure to the wines. These are interspersed with clay-limestone zones that contribute balance and complexity.
In Castellina in Chianti, home to one of the estate’s two Gran Selezione wines, the vineyards are terraced and cultivated alongside centuries-old olive trees, with old vines and a well-preserved agricultural landscape. This area, equally important as Panzano, yields wines with depth, minerality, and a distinct Tuscan elegance.
Founded on the principles of uncompromising quality, Gagliole has progressively evolved its production philosophy to embrace sustainable farming practices, manual vineyard work, and precision viticulture. Every choice is guided by attention to detail—from summer cover crop management to the selection of natural biostimulants to mitigate thermal and water stress, and the targeted use of vermicompost in the most expressive plots.
No topping is performed in the vineyard, in order to respect the physiological integrity of the vines and encourage balanced ripening. Supplemental irrigation is used where possible, and the estate adopts resilient, high-performing rootstocks like 110 Richter to ensure balance and longevity.
Annual production is about 85,000 bottles, fully certified organic. A modern but non-interventionist approach is adopted in the state-of-the-art winery: each parcel is vinified separately to preserve the unique identity of each cru. Fermentations take place in stainless steel or French oak, with maceration times adapted to the grape variety and vintage, followed by aging in carefully selected oak barrels and concrete vats chosen to enhance the fruit.
The team is young, cohesive, and highly motivated:
• Giulio Carmassi, winemaker, leads the technical and production side
• Cosimo Soderi, CEO, manages the winery and the export markets
• Alessia Riccieri, oversee hospitality
• The vineyard workers—young, highly skilled, and deeply committed—represent a rare human asset, with a meticulous attention to detail.
The range includes:
• Chianti Classico DOCG
• Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG
• Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG from both Panzano and Castellina
• Supertuscan IGT
Gagliole’s wines are known for their elegance, vibrant acidity, and ability to authentically reflect the vintage and terroir. This is a handcrafted production, combining depth and drinkability, designed for a discerning and sophisticated audience.
