PBW - Portugal Boutique Winery
Portugal Boutique Winery was born from the desire to preserve and disseminate the Portuguese wine wealth, so present in our culture and with centuries-old roots.
It was in the Douro Valley - the first Demarcated Region in the World - that PBW took its first steps, revealing the specificities of its different terroirs and vinifying grapes from vines with different soils, altitudes and exhibitions.
The growth of the project has posed new challenges for PBW. Thus, it was decided to move to other wine regions, with Dinamite, a sparkling wine made in Bairrada, and Gorro, a white wine produced in the Vale do Lima, Vinho Verde Region.
The wines created by Portugal Boutique Winery are unique, true, with their own identity. Wines that, although so different from each other, reflect their origin. Its geography. They are wines from Portugal. Atlantic, fresh and with character. Wines that define the Portuguese Soul.
It was based on this idea of territory, soil and Lusa identity that Ricardo thought about their wines. Because these are nothing more than a reflection of what Portugal is, of its diversity and wealth, manifested in the landscape, in culture, in geography.
Quinta do Carvalhido
Quinta do Carvalhido is a Boutique Winery located in the Douro Region, sub-region of Douro Superior.
The Estate is a place where an unparalleded tranquility fills the air, yet one cannot escape a subtle feelinf of discomfort, arising from our sense of smallness in the face of the valley's vast grandeur.
A family owned estate, with a unique terroir and focusing on the quality of each wine presents today three brands:
- Quinta do Carvalhido, Red and White - A statement of quality, a tribute to the region
- Carvalhido, Red, White and Rose - Wines with personnality, quality and image showing how the family cares for each and every grape
- Concrete, Red, White and Rose - Using Concrete vats, this brands shows the versatility of the estate terroir, producing lighter and fresher wines.
In 2024, the project grew to 15.000 bottles divided by the 8 diferente wines and the plan is to continuo growing but always with the mindsite of quality over quantity.
Rocim
A family owned estate, Herdade do Rocim is located between Vidigueira and Cuba, in the Lower Alentejo, with a size of 120 hectares, 70 of which are vineyards and 10 of olive trees. The Vidigueira fault, a natural landmark which marks the border between the Upper and Lower Alentejo, determines the raison d´être of Vidigueira, the southernmost wine-producing sub-region in the Alentejo. The East-West facing escarpment, of around 50 kilometers in length, defines the climate of Vidigueira, and, despite its deep-lying southern location, makes it one of the most temperate sub-regions in the Alentejo. At Herdade do Rocim we have always respected the natural vocation of the region´s terroir, producing fresh, elegant and mineral wines. We also produce in different wine regions (Vinho Verde, Douro, Açores, Madeira, Bairrada, Lisboa, Port Wine and Madeira Rhum), as well as sparkling and natural wines (most of our vineyards are organic).
