Wine type: Organic sweet white wine - 75 cl (750 ml)
Grape variety: Gewurztraminer
Appellation: AOC Alsace
Tasting notes: This Alsace wine offers an intense aromatic nose, revealing notes of rose and lychee. On the palate, it is full-bodied, rich and round, with expressive aromas of exotic fruits.
Food and wine pairings: Aperitif, foie gras, spicy cuisine, and blue cheeses such as Roquefort or Munster.
Harvest: Hand-harvested grapes with careful sorting.
Vinification and ageing: Whole grapes are gently pressed using a pneumatic press, followed by slow fermentation under temperature control. The wine is aged on fine lees and bottled at the estate after 9 months of ageing.
The family-owned Domaine Charles Baur has been located in Eguisheim, at the heart of the Alsace vineyard, for several generations. This independent winegrower offers the full range of Alsace wines and Crémants d’Alsace, as well as the Brand, Eichberg and Pfersigberg Grands Crus. All wines are certified organic. The grapes come exclusively from the estate’s own vineyards. Many cuvées have also received awards from specialist wine guides and the press.
